TRUMAN AWARDS

About Truman

Global recognition

Truman Awards is an independent, global recognition program celebrating community, creativity, leadership, innovation, business achievement, emerging talent, service, and lasting contributions. We recognize people, teams, and organizations around the world and share the stories of award winners and honorable mentions through profiles, articles, photographs, video, and audio.

Our awards

Each recipient page identifies the award category and recognition received. An honorable mention is distinct from an award win. Eligibility, entry dates, judging criteria, and event details will be published before any related process opens.

Our independence

Truman Awards is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation, the Harry S. Truman Good Neighbor Award Foundation, or the City of Independence’s Harry S. Truman Public Service Award program.

Accuracy and permissions

We aim to publish accurate, respectful profiles and use media with permission or an appropriate license. Featured people may request corrections through the Truman representative who arranged their profile.

Terms of Use

Using this website

You may browse Truman Awards and share links to its public pages. Use the website lawfully and respectfully. Do not attempt to access the CMS without authorization, disrupt the website, upload malicious material, impersonate another person, or misuse personal information.

Content and ownership

Truman’s original content belongs to its owner. Photographs, recordings, artwork, trademarks, and submitted materials may belong to their respective creators or rights holders. Viewing or downloading an item does not grant permission to republish, sell, or commercially reuse it. Seek permission from the appropriate rights holder.

Awards and information

An award or honorable mention recognizes the contribution described on the recipient page. It is not a government credential, professional license, guarantee of future results, or blanket endorsement of every activity of a recipient. Specific nomination, judging, event, and participation rules will be published separately when applicable.

Links and media

Recipient websites, social accounts, and externally hosted media are provided for convenience. Their availability, content, privacy practices, and terms are controlled by their operators. Truman does not guarantee third-party services.

Availability and corrections

We work to keep information accurate and the website available, but errors and interruptions can occur. Content may be corrected, updated, or removed. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website is provided as available without warranties; nothing here excludes rights or liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.

Updates

These terms may be updated as the website develops. The effective date shown here identifies the current version. Questions about featured content can be raised through the Truman representative responsible for that content. Effective October 3, 2026.

Privacy Policy

Information on this site

Truman publishes recipient names, biographies, award information, photographs, recordings, and links supplied or approved for publication. Public profiles and blog posts may be indexed by search engines and shared by visitors. Avoid supplying information you do not want made public.

Site operations

The website is hosted on the operator’s server. CMS content is stored in the local Truman SQL Server database; uploaded media is stored in local server folders. The web server may record basic request information such as IP address, request time, page requested, browser information, and errors for security and troubleshooting.

Administrator sign-in

Authorized administrators use an essential sign-in cookie and security tokens to access the CMS. Passwords are stored as salted hashes. Public browsing does not require a Truman account. This version does not include advertising trackers, marketing analytics, payments, or a public nomination form.

External links and media

If you follow a social or website link, or play media hosted at an external URL, that provider may receive your IP address and browser information and may use its own cookies. Its privacy policy applies to that interaction. Bundled fonts and uploaded media are served locally.

Retention and safeguards

Published material remains available while it serves the awards program. CMS records, operational logs, and local backups are retained for site operation, recovery, and legitimate recordkeeping and may be removed when no longer needed. Access is restricted, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

Corrections and removal requests

If you are featured, contact the Truman representative who arranged your profile to request correction or removal. We may need to verify your connection to the material. A removal from the site may not immediately remove search engine caches, third-party copies, or older protected backups.

Children and future features

The site does not offer accounts or submission forms for children. Do not submit a child’s personal information without appropriate parental or guardian permission. This policy will be updated before new collection features are introduced. Effective October 3, 2026.
